Noise-Dissipation \"shields the shield,\" absorbing and reflecting most of this RF noise\/energy before it reaches the layer attached to ground.\u003cbr\u003eAUDIOQUEST IRISH RED features cold-welded, gold-plated terminations that allow for a solder-free connection, which is a common source of distortion. Instead of solder, the process employs a high-pressure technique. Because the rectified shells are stamped rather than machined, the metal used can be chosen for low distortion rather than machinability.\u003cbr\u003eAUDIOQUEST IRISH RED features 0.5% solid silver conductors that eliminate wire interaction distortion. Solid silver-plated conductors are excellent for very high-frequency applications. These signals, being such a high frequency, travel almost exclusively on the surface of the conductor. Because the surface is made of high-purity silver, the performance is very similar to a solid silver cable, but the price is much closer to a solid copper cable. This is an incredibly cost-effective way to produce very high-quality subwoofer cables.\u003cbr\u003eAny solid material adjacent to a conductor is actually part of an imperfect circuit. Cable insulation and circuit board materials all absorb energy. Some of this energy is stored and then released as distortion.
