Traditional shielding systems typically absorb and then drain noise\/RF energy to the component ground, modulating and distorting the critical \"reference\" ground plane, which in turn causes signal distortion. The 6-layer carbon-based Noise Dissipation System (NDS) \"shields the shield,\" absorbing and reflecting most of this noise\/RF energy before it reaches the ground-attached layer.\u003cbr\u003eAUDIOQUEST WATER uses polyethylene air-tube insulation on both conductors for improved geometry stabilization and better clarity. Since air absorbs almost no energy and polyethylene is low-loss and has a benign distortion profile, polyethylene air-tube insulation, with its high air content, causes much less of the \"blurring\" effect common to other materials.\u003cbr\u003eAUDIOQUEST WATER features cold-welded silver terminations directly on pure red copper terminations.\u003cbr\u003eAUDIOQUEST WATER is made using Solid Perfect-Surface Copper+ (PSC+) which prevents electrical and magnetic strand interaction. PSC+ minimizes distortion caused by grain boundaries and maximizes linear RF noise dissipation.\u003cbr\u003eAUDIOQUEST WATER features a dielectric-bias system with an RF trap whose properties affect signal integrity. The inclusion of an RF trap (developed for AudioQuest's Niagara power product series) ensures that radio frequency noise is not induced into the signal conductors by the DBS field elements.
