Inserting the CAE Buffer into the chain solves this problem. The MC406 is a low-noise buffer in a small, rugged enclosure. It can add up to +6 dB of gain with the front slider, and compensates for signal loss that can occur when combining pedals with different impedance levels. It also precisely adjusts signal recovery with Hi and Lo cut switches, and features an additional output for a tuner, a separate effects chain, or an amplifier, and can be set to receive a buffered or unbuffered signal.
