For lovers of deep, refined bass, the Gold W12 is an indispensable addition to any speaker setup. Every soundtrack is underpinned by the deep, balanced depth effortlessly provided by this premium subwoofer. All the rumble and clatter of the most action-packed Hollywood blockbusters comes from the powerful Gold W12 subwoofer, where a 12" (305 mm) long-throw driver is reinforced by a pair of auxiliary bass radiators (ABR) and powered by 600 W of Class D amplification. The power and scale this combination can generate can be felt as easily as it can be heard, thanks to its prodigious 20 Hz bass extension. The Gold W12 has a host of fine-tuning options and, thanks to Monitor Audio's APC (Automatic Position Correction) system, the subwoofer can perform at its best, regardless of where it is positioned. And this isn't just any instrument: the Gold W12 is equally capable of conveying all the musicality and harmonic detail of a drum to the earth-shattering power of a volcanic explosion. Adjusting settings is provided by the innovative controller mounted on the top panel of the cabinet or using Monitor Audio's proprietary "SubConnect" software. The settings provide four fully configurable user presets per input, including modes for: Flat/Music/Movie and Impact EQ settings. Fine-tuning can be done by adjusting frequency, slope, trim, and EQ filters for each preset. Night Mode actively reduces the dynamic range of the loudest sections based on the listener's desired level.
