The Teatro Verde is one of Rome's most active and long-standing cultural institutions, offering a continuous program ranging from live theatre to puppet theatre (puppets, marionettes, shadows), concerts, and workshops. The variety of productions required an extremely flexible equipment fleet and a fast, intuitive, and powerful control console. The main objectives were to reduce energy consumption and heat on stage, ensure maximum signal reliability, and simplify the management of color, intensity, and shaping parameters. Technical Challenges & Integration Choices Intuitive and Fast Control: Equipping the control booth with a modern lighting console capable of managing traditional warm white projectors, motorized/multicolor LED fixtures, and dimmer packs. Precise Shaping: Allowing for sharp cuts and concentrated beams for both the main proscenium and close-up lighting dedicated to puppet theatre. Theatrical Homogeneity and Flexibility: Utilizing wide-range Fresnel projectors for impeccable stage washes and cyclorama bars for uniform and immersive backdrops. 🔹 Control & Operation: ETC & Eurolite ETC ColorSource 20: Compact professional lighting console with touchscreen and dedicated faders. It allows for advanced color parameter control (immediate color picking), fast management of DMX/RDM channels, and storage of complex cue lists for various guest companies. Eurolite EDX-4RT DMX RDM: 4-channel dimmer/switch pack with RDM support for flexible, secure, and centralized management of power lines and loads on stage. 🔹 Classic Theatrical & Wash Lighting Briteq BT-THEATRE 261FC: Fresnel-type theatrical projector with a high-output Full Color source. It offers extraordinary flexibility, transitioning from a perfectly calibrated theatrical white to dense and homogeneous chromatic scenographies. Briteq BT-THEATRE 50WW: Compact 50W warm white projector, ideal for soft cuts, backlighting, and scenic accents with low consumption and completely silent operation. 🔹 Shaping, Specials, and Detail Briteq LED Profile 250W: High-performance theatrical profile spot with high-definition optics, ideal for sharp gobo projections and precise shaping on the stage's focal planes. Centolight SQUARE 100PZ WW ZOOM: 100W warm white LED mini profile spot with integrated zoom. Its compact design makes it perfect for discreet placement on low trusses or side angles, essential for precisely illuminating puppets and close-up scenes. 🔹 Backdrops & Cycloramas Briteq BTI-CYCLO: Asymmetric linear projector specifically designed for uniform illumination of backdrops and wings, ensuring saturated and continuous color washes without creating spots or light breaks. Results and Advantages for the Venue Optimized Control Workflow: With the ETC ColorSource 20 console, theatre technicians and external productions can program and recall scenes quickly and accurately. Total Scenic Versatility: The combination of profile spots (Briteq and Centolight), Fresnels, and cycloramas allows for a quick transition from an intimate prose setting to a vibrant and colorful animation show. Stage Comfort and Safety: The elimination of heat radiated by old halogen lamps preserves delicate puppet and marionette materials, improving working conditions for performers on stage.
