The ISS (Intelligent Signal Sensing) function reduces the system's power consumption to less than 0.5 watts by putting the monitor in automatic standby when no signal is detected on the inputs for a certain period of time. As soon as an audio signal is detected on the input, the system is turned on instantly. This ISS function is compatible with the new EU standards and the ErP Directive 2013 which regulates the consumption of electronic equipment.

Each 8040B is equipped with Iso-Pod™ (Isolation Positioner/Decoupler™), a support capable of eliminating any sound colorations by decoupling the monitor from the surface it is positioned on. Iso-Pod™ also allows you to tilt the monitor to point it perfectly on-axis towards the listener.
For ideal positioning in any type of environment, Genelec 8040B includes rear support points for floor or wall mounts, plus an M10 hole on the base.
