Adam Audio A77H
Estimated delivery in Italy between 19 and 21 October
The ADAM Audio A77H is a 3-way powered midfield studio monitor in a horizontal format for mixing, mastering, post-production, and professional monitoring, featuring dual 7” MLM woofers, a 3.5” DCH midrange driver, an X-ART tweeter with a rotatable HPS waveguide, 340 W of peak amplification distributed across the three ways, a frequency response from 34Hz to 45kHz, a front-firing bass reflex system, 96kHz DSP, A Control via Ethernet, SoundID Reference, and XLR/RCA inputs.
Three ways for an accurate midfield reference
The ADAM Audio A77H is a 3-way active midfield monitor designed to deliver a wide soundstage, extended low-end, and a highly readable reproduction of the midrange. The configuration combines two 7" MLM woofers, a 3.5" DCH midrange driver, and the X-ART tweeter, reaching 34 Hz at the low end and 45 kHz at the high end at -6 dB.
The DCH midrange separates the most critical range
The inclusion of a dedicated midrange transducer reduces the load required by the woofers and tweeter, allowing for more precise management of the spectral zone to which the human ear is particularly sensitive. The 3.5" DCH (Dome Cone Hybrid) driver uses MLM material and operates between crossovers at 400 Hz and 3 kHz, contributing to the definition of vocals, acoustic instruments, and complex harmonic components.
Dual MLM woofer, X-ART, and rotatable HPS
The two 7" woofers are driven by a 250 W peak PWM/Class D section, while the midrange and tweeter use Class A/B amplification of 70 W and 20 W peak, respectively. Total power reaches 340 W peak. The X-ART tweeter, handcrafted in Germany, is paired with a rotatable HPS waveguide to maintain controlled and coherent dispersion even in installations with different orientations.
DSP, Room Adaptation, and A Control
The internal 96 kHz DSP manages crossovers, protections, and calibration functions. On the rear, Bass, Desk, Presence, and Treble controls are available, along with Pure and UNR voicings; selecting Ext recalls settings defined via A Control. The software allows for working with six PEQ bands, adjusting the level and delay of individual monitors, managing multiple speakers in a network, and saving complete setups. The software also enables mute/dim management of the entire system, saving/recalling setups, and updating monitor firmware.
SoundID Reference and integration into professional systems
Filters generated by Sonarworks SoundID Reference can be imported into A Control and transferred directly to the A77H's DSP, a useful solution for stereo, multichannel, and immersive systems. Connectivity includes balanced XLR, unbalanced RCA, and RJ45 Ethernet. The horizontal cabinet features two front-firing bass reflex ports and four M8 threaded inserts on the bottom for mounting. Dimensions are 236 x 531 x 350 mm (H x W x D) and the weight is 17.1 kg.
Target audience and when to choose it
The A77H is recommended when the advantages of a true 3-way architecture in a horizontal format are needed: the dedicated midrange lightens the load on the woofers and tweeter in the most sensitive listening zone, while the dual 7” configuration offers greater accuracy in the low end. It is suitable for professional control rooms, post-production, and multichannel installations.
