The ADAM Audio S3H is a 3-way horizontal midfield studio monitor for professional studios, mixing, mastering, and post-production, featuring two 7” ELE Hexacone woofers, a 4” Carbon Composite DCH midrange, an S-ART tweeter with an HPS waveguide, 500W Class D amplification for each woofer (1000W total for low frequencies), 300W Class D for the midrange, and 50W Class A/B for the high frequencies, with a frequency response from 30Hz to 50kHz (-20dB), advanced DSP, AES3 input, and a "Classic" preset that emulates the on-axis response of the legendary S3A.
Dual woofer in a horizontal format
The ADAM Audio S3H is designed for horizontal use and features two 7" ELE woofers, a 4" DCH midrange, and the S-ART tweeter. The 3-way configuration achieves a frequency response from 30 Hz to 50 kHz and a maximum peak of at least 126 dB SPL at 1 meter per pair, offering high dynamic headroom in a cabinet specifically developed for horizontal placement.
Two Hexacone woofers and Carbon-Composite midrange driver
The two 182 mm woofers employ HexaCone membranes and 39 mm voice coils. The midrange is handled by a 100 mm DCH driver with a Carbon-Composite membrane, while the S-ART tweeter manages high frequencies. Crossovers at 250 Hz and 3 kHz divide the spectrum among the three system sections.
1350W of total amplification
Each woofer has a 500W Class D amplifier, for a total of 1000W dedicated to the low range. The midrange uses 300W of Class D power, and the tweeter uses 50W of Class A/B power, bringing the system's total power to 1350W.
The Classic preset dedicated to the S3H
The S3H distinguishes itself from other S-Series models with its third factory preset, called "Classic," designed to emulate the on-axis response of the famous ADAM S3A. In addition to Pure, UNR, and Classic, there are two user memory slots. The DSP also offers six parametric EQs, low-shelf and high-shelf filters, global level control, and delay up to 5 ms.
XLR, AES3, and software management
The analog XLR input is accompanied by digital AES3 input and output, which can also be used in a daisy-chain configuration. The USB port allows for updates and parameter changes via ADAM Audio S Control for Windows and macOS, which is also useful when the monitor is installed in a way that makes the rear panel less accessible. The dimensions are 280 x 585 x 380 mm and the weight is 26.6 kg. For fixed installations, there are integrated mounting points, a dedicated stand, an Adapter Plate, and original ADAM Audio wall or ceiling mounting options; an optional protective grille is also available.
