The ADAM Audio S3V is an amplified 3-way midfield studio monitor in a vertical configuration for mixing, mastering, post-production, and critical listening, featuring a 9” ELE Hexacone woofer, a 4” Carbon Composite DCH midrange, an S-ART tweeter with an HPS waveguide, 500W RMS amplification for the lows, 300W for the mids, and 50W for the highs, a frequency response from 32Hz to 50kHz (-20dB), and a DSP with parametric EQs, room compensation, presets, and delay, as well as XLR and AES3 digital inputs.
Three-way vertical configuration
The ADAM Audio S3V is the 3-way vertical model in the S Series that pairs a 9" ELE woofer with a 4" DCH midrange and an S-ART tweeter. The separation of the midrange allows for the distribution of the workload across three dedicated sections, with crossovers at 250 Hz and 3 kHz, a frequency response from 32 Hz to 50 kHz, and a maximum peak of at least 124 dB SPL at 1 meter per pair.
Hexacone woofer and DCH midrange
The 223 mm woofer uses a HexaCone membrane and a 50 mm voice coil. The midrange is handled by a 100 mm DCH driver with a Carbon-Composite membrane and a 60 mm voice coil, while high frequencies are reproduced by the S-ART tweeter with a 4:1 velocity transformation ratio. This architecture aims to maintain detail and intelligibility across the entire spectrum.
850 W distributed across the three transducers
The woofer is driven by a 500 W Class D amplifier, the midrange by a 300 W Class D section, and the tweeter by a 50 W Class A/B amplifier. The total power reaches 850 W, with dedicated amplification for each band of the system.
Advanced voicing and DSP memories
The DSP section provides five presets: Pure and UNR are the two factory curves, while three memories are reserved for user settings. Each user preset can utilize six parametric EQs and two shelving filters, in addition to global level adjustment and a maximum delay of 5 ms. The OLED panel allows everything to be configured directly from the monitor.
Professional connections and digital integration
In addition to the XLR analog input, the S3V integrates AES3 input and output for use in digital chains, with Left or Right channel selection directly from the DSP. The USB port allows for firmware updates and control from a computer via ADAM Audio S Control. The vertical cabinet measures 536x293x380 mm and weighs 25 kg. Integrated mounting points also allow for the use of original ADAM Audio mounts for wall or ceiling installations; an optional protective grille is also available.
