Akai Professional's new series of ultra-portable controllers makes its debut. The LPK25 is the new 2-octave (25-key) USB MIDI mini keyboard, just over 30 centimeters wide, designed for DJs, producers, and musicians who like to compose on the go, for all those who have limited space dedicated to their musical hobby, and for those looking for an extremely compact solution to play with their computer (Mac or PC).
The LPK25 is a miniature representation of Akai's successful MPK series of MIDI keyboards, from which, in addition to a velocity-sensitive keyboard, it has taken another very useful and important function: the integrated arpeggiator, unique for an instrument of such small dimensions. The arpeggiator offers 6 different arpeggio templates, and eight different rhythmic/metric settings (1/32, 1/16, 1/8, ¼, each accompanied by its triplet equivalent). In addition to these features, there are functions such as sustain, octave transposition, and Tap Tempo, each assigned to a dedicated key.
Furthermore, if needed, you can use the AKAI mini keyboard's keys to send MIDI Program Change messages. The LPK25 connects to your computer's USB ports (PC and/or Mac), from which it will also receive power for operation, all without having to install any drivers. There are 4 memories/banks for programming and recalling appropriate settings for use with different software. Connect the LPK25 to your computer and play: create melodies, riffs, arpeggios, and harmonies, wherever you are.
