The AKAI MPK MINI PLAY is a MIDI keyboard with built-in sounds designed for studio production, on-the-go music creation, and live performances. It can serve as a controller for your DAW software and virtual instruments, and also functions independently without a computer thanks to its 128 built-in sounds and 10 drum kits, power via 3 AA batteries, stereo mini-jack audio output, and integrated speaker. The 128 internal sounds on the two-octave synth-action keyboard, featuring 25 velocity-sensitive keys transposable across up to 10 octaves, include a wide selection capable of covering tonal needs from traditional to modern synths. The sounds of the 10 DRUM KITS, on the other hand, can be played directly from the pads. Sound searching and loading from the AKAI MPK MINI PLAY's internal library are facilitated by the OLED display and dedicated knob. To modify sounds, you can use the 2 banks of 4 rotary potentiometers, thus accessing 8 real-time controllable parameters: cut-off, resonance, envelope, EQ, chorus, and reverb. A programmable joystick allows you to control pitch bend and modulation parameters, while a 1/4” TS jack input allows for connecting a sustain pedal. As is customary, connecting the AKAI MPK MINI PLAY to your PC or Mac turns it into a powerful MIDI controller for playing and controlling your DAW software and virtual instruments. The USB connection also provides power.
