The Akai MPX16 is a compact professional sampler designed specifically for live performances or recording studio applications. This latest-generation sampler features 16 pressure-sensitive, backlit pads, an LCD display, ¼” jack inputs, and an integrated microphone for recording desired sounds directly into the unit and processing each clip assigned to a pad with the integrated EQ and pitch. Libraries can be loaded directly onto an SD or SDHC card, or the MPX16 can be used as a controller via the USB port. MIDI connections also allow for connecting external machines such as drum machines, expanders, synthesizers, or any other type of compatible hardware equipment.
The MPX File Conversion Utility software, which can be downloaded for free from the manufacturer's website, allows you to manipulate samples on your computer, converting them to WAV format and easily transferring them to the SD memory, making them ready to be loaded into the MPX16.
