The AKAI PROFESSIONAL MPK MINI MKIII is a 25-key MIDI keyboard that offers excellent touch response, both in terms of dynamics (velocity) and playability. Not only for synth parts, but also when playing virtual piano instruments, you can notice a significant improvement in articulation response compared to previous models and other small MIDI keyboards on the market.
Finger drumming enthusiasts will find the 8 backlit, velocity- and pressure-sensitive pads, derived from the iconic MPC series, to be indispensable allies for their performances. Music producers, live performers, DJs, and VJs can utilize the various banks that the 8 Pads are organized into, configurable with a simple button press in NOTE mode, to transmit MIDI note messages; CC mode, to send Control Change messages; or Prog Change mode, for Program Change messages. The messages generated by pressing them are fully customizable in detail by the user within the software editor (downloadable from akaipro.com), which allows saving up to 8 different preset configurations to the hardware's internal memory, recallable by simultaneously pressing the "SELECT" button along with one of the 8 Pads.
The third generation of the AKAI PROFESSIONAL MPK MINI MKIII USB MIDI controller features 360° rotary potentiometers to control the parameters of virtual instruments, DAW software, and all applications that support MIDI Learn mapping. Furthermore, these controls allow modifying the values of the arpeggiator and Note Repeat functions integrated into the instrument. The silkscreen under the knobs indicates the parameter you will manage for the aforementioned integrated functions.
Compared to previous models, Akai Professional has introduced an extremely intelligible OLED display in this generation of mini master keyboard USB MIDI, to always have the parameter values in view and to make settings that were not directly possible on the hardware in previous models.
