Digital Mixer
ALLEN & HEATH QU-16 CHROME is a compact digital mixer with an innovative design and exceptional features, equipped with 16 AnalogiQTM preamplifiers with 1 dB step adjustable gain and high DSP precision to achieve the same high transparency and musicality of analog mixers. The high-quality low-latency 24-bit AD converters ensure minimal background noise for a digital mixer.
An 800 x 480 sixteen-million-color touchscreen and encoders with dedicated controls form the heart of the ALLEN & HEATH QU-16 CHROME interface, providing quick and easy access to all settings. The user-friendly interface has been designed with dedicated keys and screens guiding the display of RTA, FX, channel processing, USB audio control, scenes, setup menus, and much more.
The processing of each channel (IN/OUT) features a very simple SuperStrip layout with one (and only one!) function per encoder. The approach is always twofold: analogically with dedicated encoders or digitally via the touchscreen but without complex menu structures.
Mono and Stereo input processing includes trim, polarity, HPF, gate, insert, 4-band parametric EQ, compressor, and delay.
For Master LR and Mono Mixes, insert, 1/3 octave graphic EQ (GEQ), compressor, and delay are available. Stereo Mixes provide insert, 4-band parametric EQ (PEQ), compressor, delay, and PAN.
Motorized faders have become the norm with the advent of digital technology. However, some entry-level digital mixers do not have this precious asset despite it being a fundamental part of a "Total Recall" concept. Motorized faders are essential for fast mixing, especially when dealing with multiple monitors: in the ALLEN & HEATH QU-16 CHROME, just press a button and the input channel faders work on the send for that mix. ALLEN & HEATH QU-16 CHROME has 17 ALPS motorized faders, 16 arranged in two layers, allowing immediate access to all input channels and master mixes in a compact space, plus a dedicated master fader that follows the mix selection. In addition, a third layer is available that is customizable ad hoc by the user, with any combination of inputs, sends and FX returns, and master mixes.
