The ALLEN & HEATH QU-SB is an ultra-compact digital mixer that, thanks to iPad control, allows for free mixing from anywhere in the room, providing a smart and portable solution for bands, AV, and installations. The Qu-Pad application is an intuitive and elegant mixing interface that ensures easy access to all of Qu's varied functions and configuration options.
The ALLEN & HEATH QU-SB boasts 18 integrated inputs and 14 outputs, but it can be expanded up to 32 inputs and 24 mono outputs by simply connecting it, with a single Cat5 cable, to one of the Allen&Heath AudioRacks.
The ALLEN & HEATH QU-SB is designed to integrate seamlessly with the Qu-Pad app for iPad, providing easy and immediate access to all settings, including the channel processing screen, meters and RTA, FX rack, scene management, USB audio control, menu settings, and more.
The 16 fully recallable AnalogiQTM preamps of the ALLEN & HEATH QU-SB feature zero-crossing detection and an advanced padless gain stage with 1dB steps, connected to the DSP for optimal gain precision and maximum audio transparency.
The analog signal is captured by high-class, low-latency 24-bit A/D converters, paired with high-quality 24-bit D/A converters to provide the necessary outputs.
The effect algorithms of the ALLEN & HEATH QU-SB are derived from the FX used in the professional iLive touring series. The ALLEN & HEATH QU-SB boasts 4 stereo iLive FX engines, with faithful emulations of legendary classic reverbs, gate reverbs, delays, modulators, flangers, etc.
The AMM function is vital for reducing background noise and minimizing the risk of feedback in applications such as conferences, meetings, and roundtables where many microphones are open simultaneously. The Automatic Microphone Mixer function helps the engineer manage the levels of the various microphone inputs, ensuring audibility for each speaker. The D-Classic dynamic gain sharing algorithm is inspired by industry standards for automixers. Up to 16 microphone sources can be mixed simultaneously, with each channel having a priority definition that determines its "weight" on the system's total gain.
