The ALLEN & HEATH SQ-5 is a digital mixer powered by the revolutionary XCVI 96kHz FPGA engine, built for professional live sound applications. It ensures high-resolution audio with very low latency (less than 0.7 ms), offering unprecedented power and fidelity. The ALLEN & HEATH SQ-5 has 16 integrated preamplifiers and 8 stereo FX engines with dedicated return channels and access to the acclaimed RackExtra FX library. 12 stereo mixes (configurable as Groups or Auxes) make the ALLEN & HEATH SQ-5 the perfect companion for setups involving ear-monitors, while the Automatic Mic Mixing (AMM) function facilitates the management of environments with multiple microphones. The ALLEN & HEATH SQ-5 offers all the tools necessary to satisfy any need, from AV and corporate events to live productions and installation in places of worship.
The architecture of SQ’s DEEP Processing allows you to manually choose boutique compressor and preamp emulations based on your style and needs. DEEP plug-ins can be incorporated directly into the mixer's inputs and mix channels without latency or configuration issues.
The ALLEN & HEATH SQ-5 has all the necessary I/O for standalone operation. Thanks to its intelligent SLink port, SQ can be expanded to a total of 48 mic inputs via a family of 96kHz and 48kHz rack expanders (e.g., AB168, AR2412, AR84, and DX168), and Mix & Match, for owners of other Allen & Heath digital systems.
The integrated SQ-Drive unit allows for quick and easy capture of a 96kHz multitrack recording or a stereo recording of the show to a USB stick or hard drive. No software setup, no audio card drivers, and no extra laptop to carry to the gig. SQ-Drive is also a smart way to manage walk-in music. A built-in 32x32 96kHz audio interface is also provided for multitrack recording, backing tracks, or virtual soundcheck applications. The interface is compatible with Core Audio and ASIO and comes complete with MIDI and DAW control functions.
