APOGEE SYMPHONY DESKTOP is a 10-in 14-out audio interface for Mac and Windows that packs the legendary sound quality of Apogee's Symphony I/O Mk II (rack) into a sleek and inspiring audio interface that fits on your desk and in your carry-on.
Combining superior performance with new features such as mic preamp emulation, the Symphony ECS Channel Strip plugin, and ultra-low latency recording with Apogee FX DSP/native plugins, APOGEE SYMPHONY DESKTOP amplifies creativity in the studio or on the go, giving recordings the incredible quality of the legendary Apogee sound.
Like every product in the Symphony line, the new APOGEE SYMPHONY DESKTOP benefits from Apogee's main mission: to design the best audio interfaces using state-of-the-art analog and digital components, carefully selected by expert ears.
Similar to Symphony I/O MkII, the analog-to-digital conversion stage of APOGEE SYMPHONY DESKTOP features ultra-low distortion, high transient response speed, fully differential analog operational amplifiers (to keep circuits balanced even within the device), and a state-of-the-art A/D converter with dual summing that further improves performance.
The digital-to-analog stage of APOGEE SYMPHONY DESKTOP uses brand new technology to deliver uncompromised "Symphony DAC" performance in a portable product, including a robust high-current output driver with ultra-low distortion.
At the heart of the input system are the mic preamps, and those on APOGEE SYMPHONY DESKTOP offer up to 75 dB of gain. The preamp design features Apogee's unique Advanced Stepped Gain architecture that ensures very low noise and distortion whether the source is a thumping bass drum or delicate fingerpicking on an acoustic guitar.
With variable impedance settings on both mic and instrument inputs, APOGEE SYMPHONY DESKTOP optimizes the input stage to best match various devices, ensuring deep lows and clear highs. The ability to select emulations of historic preamps adds character, attitude, and grit to recordings.
APOGEE SYMPHONY DESKTOP features two ultra-low impedance headphone outputs with independent signal routing, both equipped with dual-sum ESS DACs. The front panel output is perfect for virtually any headphones, while the rear panel output is specifically designed for high-efficiency headphones.
