APOGEE SYMPHONY I/O 8X8 MKII PTHD is a multi-channel audio interface with an unimaginable new level of Apogee AD/DA conversion, a modular 8-input and output I/O system, and an intuitive touchscreen display, designed to provide professional quality for audio recording, mixing, and mastering. With two conversion module slots and the capacity for up to 32 A/D and D/A conversion inputs and outputs per unit, APOGEE SYMPHONY I/O 8X8 MKII PTHD offers the best value per channel of any interface in its category.
APOGEE SYMPHONY I/O 8X8 MKII PTHD features Thunderbolt connections for linking to a Mac and use with any Core Audio compatible DAW, such as Logic Pro X with latency under 1.35 ms in Logic Pro X (96kHz / 32 buffer) or others.
All main input and output settings for APOGEE SYMPHONY I/O 8X8 MKII PTHD are accessible from the new touchscreen front panel, allowing you to change input type, monitor levels, adjust Mic Pre gain, or calibrate Symphony I/O Mk II to match the levels of analog equipment in your setup. The high-resolution TFT display provides convenient visual feedback during recording and listening. Without needing to look at the computer screen, APOGEE SYMPHONY I/O 8X8 MKII PTHD allows you to monitor up to 64 I/O channels (32 IN x 32 OUT), and control key parameters such as signal levels, polarity, mute, phantom power, and Soft Limit.
APOGEE SYMPHONY I/O 8X8 MKII PTHD is equipped with an advanced control system that allows it to operate at an ideal temperature, ensuring maximum performance and reliability. The temperature control system is complemented by a new improved fan and a redesigned chassis that allow for silent component cooling.
The new Symphony Control software has been rebuilt from the ground up and replaces Apogee's Maestro software for APOGEE SYMPHONY I/O 8X8 MKII PTHD. Symphony Control offers all of Maestro's features in a new highly customizable user interface, with innovative features such as Talkback, Surround Sound for 5.1, 7.1, 9.1 AMBEO and 11.1 ATMOS monitoring, the simplified "Essentials" control window, and the FX Send mixer functionality, recently introduced in the Element Control software.
Apogee Control provides immediate access to input and output levels, using the large control knob and 3 Symphony-inspired selection buttons, plus direct access to a wide range of software functions using the 8 user-customizable buttons. The Apogee Control hardware remote connects directly to your Mac using the included USB cable.

From the front panel touchscreen, APOGEE SYMPHONY I/O 8X8 MKII PTHD can be set to use Apogee's leading AD/DA conversion with Windows DAW workstations, digital consoles, and even Hi-Fi systems. Standalone mode allows APOGEE SYMPHONY I/O 8X8 MKII PTHD to be connected to the digital I/Os of these devices to bypass their AD/DA converters and use Apogee's.
The analog stage in the 8x8 and 16x16 modules uses the same differential op-amps found in the first version of Symphony I/O, but the circuit has been further simplified to provide the most transparent signal path possible. The A/D Dual Sum stage, where two conversion states are summed for each analog channel, offers the lowest distortion and highest dynamic range of any converter ever designed.
The D/A section of APOGEE SYMPHONY I/O 8X8 MKII PTHD has been optimized with a more robust and powerful output path. The new high-voltage, low-impedance circuit can drive virtually any input without any performance reduction, regardless of the load presented by the connected device. This feature is particularly advantageous when connecting vintage devices with difficult load impedances or high operating levels, or via long cables.
The headphone output of APOGEE SYMPHONY I/O 8X8 MKII PTHD features Apogee's new Constant Current Drive technology (first introduced in Groove), where the output stage dynamically compensates for the non-linear response, caused by mechanical or acoustic defects, of any headphones, also reducing distortion and making the frequency response more linear.

APOGEE SYMPHONY I/O 8X8 MKII PTHD includes Apogee Network Control software which provides remote access to all interface settings. From your computer, you can calibrate all channels, set monitor output levels, select analog level type, adjust microphone preamplifier gain, and more. Drag and drop configuration and color coding allow you to create custom settings screens to view up to 6 devices in a single window. Apogee Network Control works with Mac OS X and Windows 10 and is compatible with the Apogee Control remote controller.
