Portable Synthesizer
The ARTIPHON ORBA is a portable synth, MIDI controller, and looper that allows anyone to dive into electronic music in the palm of their hand. Using the integrated looper, you can layer rhythmic parts, bass, drums, chords, and leads.
The ARTIPHON ORBA features both a built-in speaker and a mini-jack output for headphones/amplifiers. The Orba app allows you to customize every detail.
The ARTIPHON ORBA's touch and motion sensors combine to capture even the most imperceptible movements. The playable surface has eight highly touch-sensitive pads.
The ARTIPHON ORBA has ten main "actions" (gestures): Tap, Press, Spin, Radiate, Tilt, Shake, Slide, Vibrato, Move, and Bump. Each action can be used to control the built-in synthesis engine or the MIDI music software of your choice.
ARTIPHON designed the ORBA drawing inspiration from traditional instruments, classic synthesizers, household objects, and modern mobile devices. The capacitive sensing pads, haptic engine, and LED feedback incorporate the latest mobile and gaming control technologies.
The ARTIPHON ORBA features a proprietary synthesis engine characterized by the sound design of esteemed DJ and sound engineer Richard Devine.
You can use the ARTIPHON ORBA to control MIDI-based hardware and software instruments (via USB-C or wirelessly via Bluetooth MIDI). For example, you can pair the ARTIPHON ORBA with Garageband, Ableton Live, Logic Pro X, Pro Tools, Cubase, FL Studio, and other MIDI-compatible mobile applications. The ARTIPHON ORBA is compliant with the new standard for MIDI Polyphonic Expression (MPE).
