AstroLab is the result of many years of work by Arturia's research and development team, who wanted to create a 'stage keyboard' that would allow any keyboardist to bring the quality and wide range of sounds that the French company has been producing for 25 years to the stage, without the need to transfer their studio to the stage. With an elegant design, intuitive controls, and an innovative ecosystem, AstroLab integrates more than 1300 presets with 10 onboard synthesis engines, from Virtual Analog to Wavetable and Granular, all fully expandable with the possibility of adding new sounds. The fundamental concept of AstroLab is precisely to allow the live musician to transfer their studio to the stage simply and effectively. The classic procedure involved that, once the sounds were created and modeled in the studio, the studio itself had to be 'dismantled' to transfer most of the devices (controller keyboard, audio interface, computer, cables, etc.) to the stage for the live performance. Now with AstroLab, the procedure becomes much simpler, and in a single device with a solid and reliable 61-key keyboard, we have everything we need with an almost unlimited quantity of sounds. The sounds can then be customized and organized - even after leaving the studio - through the dedicated AstroLab mobile app, which allows you to modify playlists and explore new sounds, completely independently of your DAW or computer. Another of AstroLab's strengths is its connectivity. Via Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and USB connections, AstroLab is perfectly capable of interacting with computers, smartphones, or tablets, simplifying the workflow live and in the studio. The Wi-Fi connection allows you to use the Astrolab Connect application on smartphones and tablets. The Bluetooth connection then allows AstroLab to be used as an audio interface, so we will have the possibility to listen to the audio of our smartphone, tablet, or even computer directly from AstroLab's outputs. Through the USB connection, you then have the possibility to connect AstroLab to the Analog Lab Pro environment (supplied), within which it is possible to program sounds in detail, and then transfer them to AstroLab's internal library, which can count on a memory of 22.8 GB. The keyboard panel features a circular display in the center mounted on a more complex control with a ring that can be rotated and pressed, thus allowing you to scroll through the various presets by selecting them based on different criteria and navigate through AstroLab's various functions. There are impactful effects such as Chorus, Phaser, Distortion, Delay, and Reverb. The equipment is completed by an Arpeggiator, Looper, Chord and Scale modes, transport controls, and Tap Tempo. AstroLab's rear panel features many connections such as the two additional Aux1 and Aux2 pedals - in addition to the classic Sustain and Expression - which can be used to manage controls of our choice. There are also audio inputs which, among other things, allow you to use Vocoder sounds. The USB-C port allows connection to the computer, while the USB-A port can power a hard drive containing sound playlists to load or even an additional master keyboard that can control AstroLab's sounds. AstroLab represents the perfect synthesis of a master keyboard with refined aesthetics and the infinite sounds that Arturia makes available.
