Analog Architecture and Sound Character
MicroBrute UFO uses an entirely analog signal path based on a single oscillator with extensive timbral shaping. Saw, square, and triangle waveforms can be mixed and sculpted via dedicated controls such as Ultrasaw, Pulse Width, and Metalizer, allowing you to transition from solid, stable timbres to aggressive, unstable, and harmonically rich sounds. The integrated sub/overtoning allows you to reinforce the fundamental or introduce harmonic intervals useful for monolithic basses and incisive leads.
Steiner-Parker Filter and Brute Factor™
The multimode Steiner-Parker filter is one of the distinguishing elements of the MicroBrute UFO's sound character. Low-pass, band-pass, and high-pass modes allow for very broad spectral control, while resonance can be pushed to self-oscillation. The Brute Factor™ circuit introduces a form of internal feedback that drastically alters the filter's response, generating saturation, distortion, and non-linear behaviors, particularly effective for aggressive and experimental sound design.
Patchable Modulation Matrix
The patchable modulation matrix allows sources such as LFO, envelope, and external CV to be routed to key destinations of the synthesis engine. This approach brings the MicroBrute UFO closer to the modular world, allowing for both standalone configurations and direct integration with Eurorack and other analog systems. The ability to break internal normalizations makes each patch a starting point for more advanced experimentation.
Sequencer, Control, and Integration
The integrated step sequencer allows for the programming of eight patterns up to 64 steps each, with direct control of tempo and playback modes. MIDI, USB, and CV/Gate connectivity allow the MicroBrute UFO to function as both a main instrument and a sound module within hybrid hardware/software setups. The audio input also allows external sources to be processed through the filter and Brute Factor™, further expanding creative possibilities.
