Analog Sound Architecture
MiniBrute 2 builds on the legacy of the original MiniBrute, maintaining the concept of mixable waveforms and adding a second analog oscillator to expand harmonics, intervals, and modulation possibilities. VCO1 offers saw, square, and triangle waves with dedicated controls (Ultrasaw, Pulse Width, and Metalizer) to transition from full and punchy sounds to softer or harmonically rich timbres with folded harmonics. VCO2 selects sine, saw, or square waves and offers three tuning ranges, covering intervals from sub-bass to the upper end of the spectrum and functioning as a slow modulation source when needed. The internal mixer allows balancing sources (VCO1, VCO2, noise generator, and external input) to build the timbral foundation with immediate control, useful both in the studio and in live contexts.
Steiner-Parker Filter and Brute Factor
The multimode Steiner-Parker filter (low-pass, high-pass, band-pass, and notch) is a key element of the MiniBrute's character: it operates with a 12dB/octave cutoff and maintains presence even with high resonance, up to self-oscillation for sharp lines and synthetic percussion. Brute Factor adds controlled saturation up to more aggressive intermodulations, useful for adding body to basses and leads, increasing intelligibility in the mix, or pushing the instrument towards more radical sounds when the project requires raw and dynamic timbres.
Modulations and CV/Gate Patch Bay
In addition to an ADSR envelope, MiniBrute 2 includes a second multi-mode AD envelope (Trig/Gate, One shot/Loop) with CV-controllable Attack and Decay times: an effective resource for creating rhythmic movements, accents, and synchronized cyclical modulations. The two LFOs offer 6 waveforms each (including Random and Slew Random) and can sync to the clock, allowing for modulations consistent with the song's tempo. The 48-point CV/Gate patch bay allows both internal routing and communication with Eurorack modules and compatible hardware: you can redirect sources and destinations, control parameters with external signals, and use MiniBrute 2 as a hub for experimental patches. Utility modules such as inverters, attenuators, and VCAs are also present, useful for adapting signal levels and polarities and making a modular system more manageable.
Sequencer and Arpeggiator
The integrated sequencer allows for programming monophonic phrases with a rapid workflow, storing up to 8 sequences that can reach 64 steps with the insertion of Rest, Tie, and Legato. The arpeggiator offers various modes (including up, down, inclusive, exclusive, random, note order, and double variants) to generate immediate patterns and transform chords into synchronized melodic lines. In the studio, it's a direct way to develop ideas and variations without interrupting the creative process; live, it allows maintaining parts in time and intervening in real-time on timbre and modulations, keeping the performance expressive and controllable.
Connections, Synchronization, and External Processing
MiniBrute 2 integrates MIDI and USB connections for control and synchronization with DAWs or hardware instruments and features a line out and headphone out for direct connection to mixers, audio interfaces, or monitors. The external audio input allows processing sources like drum machines or other synthesizers via the filter and Brute Factor, transforming the instrument into a creative analog processor. The presence of CV/Gate and clock signals on the patch bay makes integration with modular systems and compatible instruments immediate, facilitating hybrid setups where sequences, modulations, and performances remain synchronized.
Included Accessories
Included in the box are: MiniBrute 2 series synthesizer with serial number for registration, AC IEC power supply, Eurorack cable set, and preset catalog. The accessories are designed for immediate use in both stand-alone configuration and integration with a modular system.
