Arturia MiniBrute 2S is a semi-modular monophonic analog synthesizer designed for step-based composition, sound design, and integration with modular systems. Analog Sound Architecture
MiniBrute 2S adopts a pure analog architecture, designed to offer immediate control and a strong sonic character. Steiner-Parker Filter and Brute Factor
The multimode Steiner-Parker filter is one of the distinctive elements of the MiniBrute 2S. Selectable as low-pass, high-pass, band-pass, notch, and bypass, it maintains a sharp response even at high resonance and is capable of self-oscillation. The Brute Factor circuit introduces saturation and controlled feedback, allowing the sound to be pushed into rougher and more experimental territories, particularly effective for basses, leads, and contemporary electronic textures.
Advanced Step Sequencer and Arpeggiator
The sequencer is the operational heart of the MiniBrute 2S. It is structured with multiple independent tracks, dedicated to controlling pitch, gate, and CV modulations, and allows for programming complex patterns with variable lengths for each track. This approach favors the creation of polyrhythms, synchronized timbral variations, and constantly evolving sequences. Patterns can be chained to build more extended structures and transposed in real-time, making the instrument suitable for both studio composition and live performance. The integrated, synchronizable arpeggiator can be used as an autonomous creative source or recorded directly into the sequencer for consistent management of musical material.
Modulation and CV/Gate Patch Bay
The modulation section includes two envelopes and two synchronizable LFOs, designed to work both internally and in dialogue with external systems. The 48-point CV/Gate patch bay allows for reconfiguring the synthesizer's control flow, sending clock, pitch, and modulation signals to Eurorack modules, or receiving voltages from external sources. MiniBrute 2S can therefore operate as a stand-alone synthesizer or as a control hub for more articulated analog and modular setups.
Pad Interface and Performance Use
The absence of a traditional keyboard is compensated by a velocity- and pressure-sensitive pad interface, organized for immediate and performative use. This solution favors a rhythmic and sequential approach to composition and allows for dynamic control of parameters such as filter cutoff, modulation depth, or envelope intensity, both during programming and in live contexts.
