The dual-dome diaphragm construction allows the AE2300 to maintain directivity across the entire frequency range, with slight off-axis coloration (the frequency response is almost identical at 0°, 90°, and 180°) for excellent phase coherence when using multiple microphones. The AE2300 features a selectable low-pass filter that cuts annoying high-frequency noise, such as the sibilant sound a guitar amp or hi-hat can generate, without affecting the overall tone of the instrument.
