The AUDIO TECHNICA AT-ART9XI is a cartridge equipped with a special Line Contact stylus mounted on a boron cantilever. It is Audio-Technica's flagship Moving Coil cartridge. The "ART" in the model name stands for Audio-Technica Reference Transducer, the "I" suffix indicates Magnetic Core, also known as IRON core; this transducer is a component used only in premium cartridges. The specially designed magnetic circuit boasts an output voltage of 0.5 mV (1 kHz, 5 cm/sec), for dynamic reproduction capable of capturing even the most delicate nuances. The cartridge is mounted on the headshell via threaded holes and without the use of nuts.
