The AUDIO TECHNICA ATM230 is a hypercardioid dynamic microphone with a capsule specially designed to excel in applications with high sound pressure levels (SPL) and deliver a full, round sound with deep bass. The hypercardioid polar pattern reduces the pickup of sounds from the sides or rear of the microphone, improving isolation of the desired sound source and offering excellent directionality.
The discrete shape and size of the ATM230 allow it to be used in a wide variety of situations. Additionally, thanks to the included AT8665 mount, it can be precisely positioned on the snare drum or toms.
