AUDIOQUEST EARTH is an analog-audio interconnect cable from the Rivers & Elements series, featuring a triple-balanced geometry that uses a separate ground-reference conductor, so the cable’s shield is never used as an inferior conductor. Whether fitted with RCA or XLR plugs, the cable’s three conductors ensure that positive and negative signals have equally superior, low-distortion conduction paths.
To prevent captured radio-frequency interference (RFI) from modulating the equipment’s ground reference, AQ’s Noise Dissipation is required. Traditional shielding systems typically absorb and then drain RF noise/energy to component ground, modulating and distorting the critical "reference" ground plane, which in turn causes signal distortion. The 6-layer Carbon-Based Noise Dissipation System (NDS) "shields the shield," absorbing and reflecting most of this RF noise/energy before it reaches the ground-attached layer.
AUDIOQUEST EARTH uses FEP air-tube dielectric insulation. The positive conductors benefit from almost no contact between the metal and its FEP insulation, which is distinguished by its superior dielectric constant and minimal signal interference. The negative conductors benefit from intentional "lossy insulation": no air and no FEP help to maximize the distinct work of the negative connection.
AUDIOQUEST EARTH features cold-welded silver terminations directly to pure red copper terminations.
AUDIOQUEST EARTH is made using Solid Perfect-Surface Copper+ (PSC+) which prevents electrical and magnetic strand interaction. PSC+ minimizes distortion caused by grain boundaries and maximizes linear RF noise dissipation.
AUDIOQUEST EARTH features a dielectric-bias system with a radio-frequency trap whose properties affect signal integrity. The inclusion of an RF trap (developed for AudioQuest's Niagara series of power products) ensures that radio-frequency noise is not induced into the signal conductors by the DBS field elements.
