AUDIOQUEST GOLDEN GATE is an analog-audio interconnect cable that features better metals and more sophisticated technologies, including air tube insulation, dielectric bias system, and noise dissipation system.
All Bridges & Falls series cables place left and right channels in a single sheath and feature an asymmetrical double-balanced geometry with separate high-quality positive and and negative conductors. This design allows for a thin, flexible, and versatile high-performance cable that can be terminated with a variety of today's connections, including 3.5mm (male or female), DIN, and RCA.
Designed for single-ended applications, asymmetrical double-balanced geometry provides a relatively lower ground impedance for a richer and more dynamic experience. While many single-ended cable designs use a single path for both grounding and shielding, double-balanced designs separate the two for cleaner, quieter performance.
To prevent captured radio frequency interference (RFI) from modulating the equipment's ground reference, AQ's Noise-Dissipation is necessary. Traditional shielding systems typically absorb and then drain RF noise/energy to the component's ground, modulating and distorting the critical "reference" ground plane, which in turn causes signal distortion. Noise-Dissipation "shields the shield," absorbing and reflecting most of this RF noise/energy before it reaches the ground-attached layer.
The connector design allows for a solder-free connection, which is a common source of distortion. Instead of soldering, the process employs a high-pressure technique. Since the rectified shells are stamped rather than machined, the metal used can be chosen for low distortion rather than machinability.
Perfect-Surface Copper (PSC) significantly outperforms previous AQ metals that cost more than ten times as much. Proprietary metal processing technology protects the wire's surface at every stage of drawing and manufacturing. When high-purity, low-oxide copper is kept as soft, pure, and smooth as possible, it becomes a wonderfully low-distortion conductor. In a conventional cable, the electrical and magnetic interaction between strands is one of the biggest sources of distortion, often causing a rather harsh and dirty sound. Solid conductors are essential for achieving the very clean, natural sound of Red River.
