Class A/B Amplifier
The AVANTONE CLA-100 is a 1U, convection-cooled class A/B amplifier (100WRMS per channel) with the classic sound of class AB hi-fi and studio systems. Similar to its more powerful sibling, the AVANTONE CLA-100 is powered by an oversized toroidal transformer and features generous high-quality Japanese capacitors, driven by a classic complement of power MOSFETs for a detailed high end.
The focus on thermal design allows this unit to be convection-cooled, with no fans on board. This means the amplifier can be placed in the same room as the monitors without fear of fan noise. Equipped with a solid steel chassis, it can be used for amplification in the studio room itself and also for "lite" monitoring in live sound.
The AVANTONE CLA-100 is perfect for almost all passive studio monitor needs and is capable of delivering 100WRMS at less than 1%THD+Noise (1kHz) into 8 ohms per channel. The flat response of +/-0.25dB from 20Hz to 30kHz at full rated power gives the listener a sound quality equivalent to that of amplifiers costing much more.
