The Blackmagic UpDownCross 100G is an 8-channel standards converter designed for next-generation IP broadcast environments. Thanks to native SMPTE-2110 connections via 100G Ethernet, it can simultaneously convert up to eight SD, HD, and Ultra HD video streams into any other format, ensuring full compatibility with modern IP infrastructures.
The device integrates two redundant 100G Ethernet ports for full compliance with the SMPTE 2022-7 standard, ensuring operational continuity even if one of the network connections fails. Redundancy is managed via Seamless Protection Switching, which compares incoming RTP packets and reconstructs a perfect video stream in real-time without interruptions or audio glitches.
The 1U rack design with front-to-back cooling is extremely quiet and optimized for rack installation. Dual redundant power supplies further increase reliability in mission-critical contexts.
The front panel includes an LCD for immediate monitoring of video inputs and outputs, as well as a speaker and headphone output. A dedicated NMOS port allows integration into IP control and routing systems, simplifying the management of SMPTE-2110 sources.
