Blackmagic Design Editor Panel specifically designed for multi-cam editing for news cutting and live sports replay, includes but
FEATURES
Blackmagic Design DaVinci Resolve Replay Editor is a hardware control panel designed for multicam editing of breaking news and live sports event replays. Connected to a computer via Bluetooth or USB-C and integrated with BMD DaVinci Resolve, it becomes a powerful workstation for operators working in sports or journalism who need to turn replays into promos, opening titles, and instant social media updates. Interesting camera angles can be loaded onto the timeline for editing, color correction, and adding various visual effects. Thanks to the replay and editing functions, only one operator is needed to work on replays, load them onto the timeline, edit them directly from the keyboard, and then post them on social media. With Blackmagic Cloud, multiple DaVinci Resolve workstations can even collaborate on the same project!
One of the main features of the Replay Editor is its ability to use multiple HyperDecks to record to a shared archive, to which DaVinci Resolve is also connected, acting as the playback engine. This allows for adding recording channels by connecting multiple HyperDecks to build your replay system in HD, Ultra HD, or even 8K, and to add storage space if you need to work even faster. In essence, however, it is the DaVinci Resolve software that manages playback, offering an extremely powerful editor that allows for collaboration among multiple users, color correction, the addition of visual effects, and audio post-production.
Recording channels, storage, playback stations, and editors are virtually unlimited!
The control panel combines functionalities for both replay and multicam editing. To create and broadcast a replay, simply watch the viewer in Input View mode, press SET POI (POI = point of interest, a sort of timecode-based bookmark) at the crucial moment to switch from input view to multiview playback of various clips. At this point, simply scroll back a moment, select the camera, and press the RUN button to broadcast the replay. While playback is in progress, you can review other angles on the multiview and choose one to broadcast in sequence. Afterwards, you load the replay onto the timeline, then add titles, etc. Instead of POIs, you can also insert various types of markers that are directly linked to clips or the timeline and are saved in the project every time they are inserted or shared.
The panel includes buttons for selecting cameras and editing footage quickly and efficiently. With integrated replay on Resolve, you can only view the cameras needed for the replay. For example, if you want to record eight cameras but only replay from four, you only need to load the latter into the bin. Different users can load different cameras and create personalized replays from each workstation. DaVinci Resolve forms multiview frames based on the files loaded into the bin, and in shared projects, it allows you to create various folders with different cameras within the same project. Thanks to DaVinci Resolve's Multi Source mode, all cameras can be viewed and played back simultaneously with the same Time Code.
From a hardware perspective, the new DaVinci Resolve Replay Editor has the same high-quality keys as gaming keyboards, spaced for easy identification, pleasant to the touch, and perfectly reliable. The trimming keys can be used with the large knob for even faster and more precise cuts. The panel connects via USB or Bluetooth, and the internal battery lasts for several hours.
In summary, the DaVinci Resolve Replay Editor is a powerful tool for managing real-time replays and multicam editing, offering a complete solution for television broadcast operators. You can reuse replays after they've aired and create engaging content for a global audience. You can insert transitions, speed changes, graphics, sponsor logos, and even a scoreboard with final scores to create truly professional posts. You can manually slow down playback speed to show viewers even more detail of the action.
Replay becomes part of the creative process like never before!
