The ATEM 1 M/E Constellation 4K is a powerful 1 M/E Ultra HD live production switcher featuring 10 12G-SDI inputs with standard conversion, 6 independent 12G-SDI outputs to which any SDI input and internal source can be routed, DVE, 4 advanced ATEM chroma keyers, multiview with up to 16 windows, media players, and Talkback. The 12G-SDI outputs also work with ISO recorders, so that each receives a resynchronized input from the switcher with its corresponding Time Code.
For live streaming, the switcher's USB-C connection operates as a webcam source. In fact, the software sees the device as a webcam with a resolution of 720 or 1080p.
The front panel buttons are of the same quality as those on higher-end models and are extremely reliable. These buttons can be used to control keys, files, and fade to black directly from the front panel, and a professional 5-pin connector for Talkback and its controls can also be accessed from here.
The 2.2" LCD display on the front panel provides menus to access any switcher function. The screen is customizable and can be configured with 4, 7, 10, 13, or 16 selectable windows, each with its own Tally outline, source label, and superimposed VU meter. The device also boasts 1 DVE that allows graphics to be positioned and compositions to be created with PiP, professional effects, 2D borders, customizable shadows and lights, etc.
The switcher's internal media storage contains broadcast-quality RGBA graphics and animations for use with the two media players, which play them instantly. This switcher is also ideal for news broadcasts and virtual sets, offering 4 different advanced ATEM keyers for high-quality chroma and luma keying. Thanks to these chroma keys and powerful internal graphics, it represents a complete solution for even complex productions. External image processors can be used, or virtual sets can be set up with fixed cameras, loading backgrounds with pre-rendered images from media players and the Media Pool, with support for TGA Sequence video format and WAV, MP3, and AIFF audio formats.
By connecting any SDI output of the switcher to the camera, you gain access to program return, camera control, and Talkback. Audio is separated from all SDI video inputs and routed to the mixer. In this regard, this switcher integrates a Fairlight mixer capable of managing up to 28 channels! Each input channel includes a 6-band parametric EQ, compressor, limiter, expander, noise gate, and of course, pan-pot.
The ATEM 1 M/E Constellation 4K is ideal for managing multi-camera coverage at music festivals and medium-sized concerts, as well as in places of worship, because it produces professional results and at the same time is simple to configure and easy to manage even by a team of volunteers. Its compact design makes it perfectly portable and therefore ideal for live productions in general.
