The Blackmagic Design Streaming Encoder 4K is a streaming processor designed to transmit HD and Ultra HD video using H.264 / H.265 compression standards via SRT and RTMP protocols, allowing live streaming to platforms like YouTube, Facebook, Twitch, and X, or to Blackmagic Cloud.
Thanks to its 10/100/1000 Base-T Ethernet connection, it can stream directly to the internet, while compatibility with 5G and 4G mobile networks allows using a smartphone's data connection for streaming if the internet connection is lost. You can even choose whether to prioritize the Ethernet connection or the phone's connection.
Based on a powerful hardware encoder, it includes a 12G-SDI reference input, which supports automatic video standard conversion, and a USB-C webcam port, allowing it to be used with video conferencing and streaming software. It also has an HDMI monitoring output, which allows real-time video stream viewing and supports 16 channels of embedded audio over SDI and 2 channels over HDMI.
The Blackmagic Streaming Encoder 4K facilitates the creation of broadcast connections over the internet with the Blackmagic Streaming Decoder 4K. The latter receives the H.264 or H.265 stream from the encoder and converts it into SDI and HDMI video, allowing point-to-point video signals between remote locations.
The front control panel includes six buttons, an adjustment knob, and a 2.2" LCD display, which allows monitoring video, audio, and streaming status.
