Braingasm Ferro is a large-diaphragm condenser microphone designed for capturing high sound pressure instruments, offering a nuanced alternative to your favorite dynamic microphone for drums, bass, electric guitars, and powerful vocals.
Ferro is a minimalist microphone, conceived to take the idea of close miking to a higher level, a synthesis of classic transistor designs equipped with a custom-built output transformer and an original capsule design.
The omnidirectional response is mechanically achieved, further decreasing the microphone's sensitivity and attenuating its proximity effect, while two additional selectable attenuations make it suitable for any sound pressure level reproducible in live and studio environments.
The hexagonal grille ensures the highest ratio between open surface and structural integrity, guaranteeing minimal phase interference caused by internal reflections within the capsule housing.
Ferro is equipped with a proprietary large-diaphragm, center-terminated capsule, featuring two 26mm gold-laminated diaphragms, and special tensioning that optimizes membrane excursion for very high sound pressure levels.
