The DAP MI 4.600 is a compact 1U Class D installation amplifier that combines high output with advanced audio networking features and powerful system processing. Delivering 4x 600 W at 4 O, it is purpose-built for diverse environments, including multi-zone commercial venues, theatres, conference centres, and more. Thanks to an IP-controlled DSP and certified Milan AVB digital input, the MI 4.600 integrates seamlessly into modern networked audio systems. For system designers dealing with mixed impedance infrastructures, there is also a bridge mode with 100 V support. Easy connections in both fixed installations and rack setups are ensured by both terminal and 2-pole speaker outputs.
At the heart of the MI 4.600 is a Milan-certified AVB interface that accepts four channels of digital audio via RJ45. A second daisy-chained RJ45 port is available for networking the DSP only, simplifying routing and monitoring in larger projects. System configuration is managed via IP using free PC or Mac software, giving installers and engineers clear visibility of channel levels, temperature, and gain reduction in real-time, whether on-site or connected remotely.
The MI 4.600’s 48 kHz DSP processor provides deep and precise control over each zone. Each channel features a 10-band input EQ and a 10-band output EQ, plus an additional 5-band group EQ for shaping tones across multiple channels. Crossover management includes high-pass and low-pass filters up to 24 dB, while FIR filtering with 144 taps per channel ensures excellent phase linearity. There is also up to 10 ms of input and output delay, and system protection is managed via RMS limiting within the DSP, preserving clarity and headroom even under demanding use conditions.
Dry relay contacts allow for instant muting of all outputs or entering standby mode to reduce power consumption when the system is idle. Along with its IP-controlled DSP, these features make daily operation reliable and intuitive.
From the robust 1U enclosure to the flexible networking, the MI 4.600 is designed for long-term durability and ease of use. The combination of Milan AVB digital audio, IP-based software control, and installer-focused options like bridging for 100 V lines, both speaker and terminal outputs, and dry contact mute/standby means faster commissioning, cleaner racks, and reliable, repeatable performance in every zone.
