HELVIA DICO series column speakers are born from the need to combine two factors: acoustic performance and aesthetic appearance. The choice of narrow and elongated (so-called runway-shaped) 50*90mm full-range transducers, equivalent to a normal 2.5” transducer, and 1” point-source tweeters allows for the creation of a small line array, reducing unwanted reflections from the floor and ceiling. It also improves speech clarity and, in general, the definition of the entire sound spectrum reproduced from 120Hz to 20kHz. The longer the array, the more extended the generated cylindrical sound wave, maintaining a more constant sound level at greater distances compared to a normal point source. The combination with a subwoofer system then allows for extending the low-frequency response and making the acoustic result harmonious and enveloping. The presence of a line transformer and a 3-position selector allows for coupling DICO columns to both 70V or 100V constant voltage amplifiers and low impedance amplifiers. The protections on the connections and connecting cables also make them waterproof and suitable for indoor and outdoor use, with an IP66 protection rating. From an aesthetic point of view, the slim and elegant profile easily integrates into architectural installations or minimalist design environments. The lower weight and dimensions compared to normal 2-way speakers, as well as the wall mounting accessories, make DICO column speakers ideal for conference rooms, places of worship, classrooms and auditoriums, architectural installations or integrated into design environments. Each column comes with a wall mounting bracket with both horizontal and vertical adjustment.
