Primo modulo ELI in formato serie 500, il DerrEsser è un dispositivo di filtraggio dinamico multifunzione, perfetto per il rack alimentato EL500. Nella modalità base "DS" è un de-esser efficace e insensibile al livello, che regola il guadagno delle alte frequenze su voci o sorgenti troppo brillanti in modo estremamente musicale. A differenza di altri de-esser, i suoi circuiti possono essere usati in più modi.
Quattro modalità
- DS Mode: de-esser con soglia indipendente dal livello: confronta il contenuto di alte frequenze con quello di basse, quindi la regolazione del livello complessivo non influisce sulla soglia. VCA selezionati per prestazioni prive di rumore e distorsione; frequenza di crossover regolabile.
- HF Limit: agisce come compressore per le alte frequenze, probabilmente il primo limitatore HF soft-knee personalizzato.
- Highpass: con LISTEN attivo si ascoltano le alte frequenze controllate dai circuiti dinamici; frequenza regolabile con la manopola Frequency.
- Lowpass: con LISTEN e HP/LP attivi si ascoltano le basse frequenze, con filtro da 12 dB/ottava regolabile.
