8" Active Monitor
ESI UNIK 08+ is an 8" active monitor with a new low-frequency Kevlar driver and a new powerful and engineered magnetostatic high-frequency tweeter that offers many improvements over the UNK 08. ESI UNIK 05+ offers quality full-range reproduction with an extended low-end and a completely new signal processing and amplification unit with a perfect low-z and low-noise design. Mos-Fet bi-amplification ensures high slew rate and fast setup, with true vintage analog audio processing with LC-type gyroscopic technology for a stress-free, silky sound.
A completely new feature is the knob for sound adjustment, from darker to brighter, making the monitors adaptable for every room and preference. Additional high-resolution high and low switches add further control. And, of course, EESI UNIK 08+ features a true gain attenuator, rather than a simple volume control.
The new crossover design ensures excellent phase response and safe power limitation, keeping the woofer and tweeter in phase for optimal response. The tweeter features a recently updated magnetostatic design with extremely low mass for extended frequency and fast transient response and high sound resolution. The matching woofer consists of a Kevlar composite cone with high rigidity that ensures improved piston movement and excellent low-end sound reproduction.
Another new feature is the flexible rubber feet with height adjustment. They are not only useful for reducing unwanted vibrations, but also allow you to tilt the monitor towards the precise listening point, an exceptional feature for typical near-field applications.
Other new special functions that are not standard in this class are standby to save power consumption (can be disabled) and a ground lift switch.
