The FOCAL SOLO6 is a 2-way monitor that offers unrivaled transparency, definition control, dynamics, and soundstage precision.
Thanks to its full-range focus mode, the FOCAL SOLO6 forms two monitors in one, preserving the sweet spot during mixing, saving console space, and simplifying cabling and monitor changes.
In terms of technologies and performance, the FOCAL SOLO6 boasts an inverted dome beryllium tweeter with an "M"-shaped protective grille and a "W"-shaped cone woofer, as well as a frequency range up to 10 kHz, specifically designed for focus mode. All this in addition to Focal's patented Tuned Mass Damper (TMD) technology, which reduces distortion in the 1kHz – 3kHz frequency range by 50%, as well as a high-pass crossover, a disengageable automatic standby mode, and a 160Hz crossover for console reflections.
Finally, to experience immersive listening with Dolby Atmos® and Sony 360RA® installations, the FOCAL SOLO6 includes inserts for wall and ceiling mounting.
The "W" composite cone is manufactured in France by Focal and allows for perfect optimization of the frequency response curve. The unique lightness and rigidity characteristics of this cone control the signal transmission speed within the material. Modulating the thickness of the structural foam provides very precise control over the damping quality of the cone. When listening, it creates total sound transparency, a very low distortion rate, and excellent phase response.
Focus mode allows the speaker to be converted into a unidirectional full-range monitor, providing a different speaker driver configuration accessible simply by pressing a footswitch, as if there were a second pair of studio monitors with reduced dynamics that allows the mix adaptability to be checked on smaller systems.
The FOCAL SOLO6 includes a variable high-pass crossover and a parametric 160 Hz crossover to reduce reflections caused by the console or desk. These monitors also feature a high-pass crossover and a disengageable automatic standby mode, accessible via a switch and offering a simple and essential option for speaker control.
The ST6 line design uses thick, robust material, providing ever-increasing rigidity and damping, with less vibration and thus less distortion.
