FOCAL SUB ONE is a powered subwoofer for the recording studio with a power of 200W RMS (2x100W in class D), with a frequency extension from 32Hz to 120Hz, which uses 2 woofers with 8" (20cm) Slatefiber cones with long excursion designed and manufactured in France by Focal itself.
FOCAL SUB ONE guarantees excellent dynamic response without introducing distortion to the signal, for natural and faithful reproduction of low frequencies. Designed to integrate perfectly into any environment, thanks to its contained width and large reflex vents located on the front panel, FOCAL SUB ONE can be positioned near walls or under the desk in the control room. The cones, with their distinctive bluish color, are built with Slatefiber technology and produced exclusively by the French company in the Saint-Étienne factory using recycled carbon fiber coupled with thermoplastic polymer.
The robust cabinet was built using 2.2 cm MDF panels assembled with reinforcing braces. Numerous adjustments and connections are accessible on the rear control panel: from the high-pass filter adjustable to 60Hz or 90Hz to the low-pass crossover (24dB/octave) with a potentiometer for setting the cut-off point, from the volume to polarity inversion, including a rotary potentiometer for adjusting the phase. There is also a switch to activate/deactivate the "Auto Stand-By" energy saving function.
The connections available in FOCAL SUB ONE include balanced Left, Right and LFE audio inputs (female XLR) and outputs (male XLR), a "2.1 Bypass" input on ¼" TS jack for a footswitch with a corresponding output for a mute function applicable to any other subwoofers present in the listening system.
