The FOCAL TWIN6 is a 2.5-way studio monitor that offers unparalleled transparency, level of definition, dynamics, and soundstage precision.
Its Focus mode utilizes a two-way configuration, preserving the sweet spot during mixing, saving console space, and simplifying cabling and monitor changes.
In terms of technology and performance, the FOCAL TWIN6 boasts an inverted dome Beryllium tweeter with a protective "M" grille and a woofer with a "W" cone, as well as a frequency range up to 10 kHz, specially designed for Focus mode. All of this is in addition to Focal's patented Tuned Mass Damper (TMD) technology, which reduces distortion in the 1kHz to 3kHz frequency range by 50%, plus a high-pass crossover, a disengageable automatic standby mode, and a 160Hz crossover for console reflections.
The composite "W" cone is manufactured in France by Focal and allows for perfect optimization of the frequency response curve. The unique lightness and rigidity characteristics of this cone control the signal transmission speed within the material. The modulation of the structural foam thickness provides very precise control over the cone's damping quality. During listening, it creates total sound transparency, a very low distortion rate, and excellent phase response.
Focus mode allows the speaker to be converted into a one-way full-range monitor, providing a different speaker driver configuration accessible by simply pressing a footswitch, as if there were a second pair of studio monitors with reduced dynamics that allows the adaptability of the mix to be controlled on smaller systems.
The FOCAL TWIN6 includes a variable high-pass crossover and a 160 Hz parametric crossover to reduce reflections caused by the console or desk. These monitors also feature a high-pass crossover and a disengageable automatic standby mode, accessible via a switch and offering a simple and essential option for speaker control.
The ST6 line's design uses a thick and robust material, allowing for ever greater rigidity and damping, with fewer vibrations and therefore less distortion.
