The FOCUSRITE CLARETT OCTOPRE is an 8-channel microphone preamplifier with 118dB dynamic range, ultra-low noise, and precision 24-bit/192 kHz A-D/D-A conversion.
The FOCUSRITE CLARETT OCTOPRE features specially designed Clarett microphone preamplifiers with a switchable 'Air' effect, which gives microphones the spaciousness and clarity of the transformer-based ISA microphone preamplifier.
The FOCUSRITE CLARETT OCTOPRE has two front-panel microphone inputs, an insert point on each channel, and eight balanced line outputs that can be fed directly from either the microphone preamplifiers or the ADAT inputs. Switching between Mic and Line inputs on the rear panel is automatic, while two instrument inputs with DI are present on the front panel. The 'Air' effect can be activated or deactivated independently on each channel.
Phantom power is switchable in two groups of four channels. Each channel has a balanced path from input to output, with the exception of a relay-bypassed Insert point that allows permanent connection of external analog EQs, compressors, or other processors, which can be accessed with the push of a button. Input channels can be routed to the analog outputs as well as to the A-D converter.
The DB25 analog outputs on the rear panel, wired to the AES59 standard, can be switched to receive ADAT inputs. Precision Focusrite digital conversion offers 24-bit operation with standard sample rates up to 192 kHz and a dynamic range of 118dB. Two ADAT input ports and two outputs are available, allowing the FOCUSRITE CLARETT OCTOPRE to carry eight I/O channels at sample rates up to 96 kHz and four channels at 176.4/192 kHz. The FOCUSRITE CLARETT OCTOPRE can be synchronized to an external ADAT or Word Clock, or to an internal clock. Finally, it features JetPLL™ for jitter elimination and a Word Clock Out function.
