The FREDENSTEIN 6DS is a 6-slot lunchbox for Fredenstein 6XX, Artistic, and Magic modules or API-500 compatible plug-in cards. Its internal power supply needs no "wall wart," just a standard IEC power cord. The Bento 6DS features several important upgrades over other similar products:
- Universal internal power supply: Mains voltages from 90 to 240 V, 50 to 60 Hz.
- Output currents: +/- 16 VDC 1.5 A and + 48 VDC 0.2 A (500 mA per slot). We at Fredenstein take power supplies seriously, and these are exceptionally reliable, solid, and quiet (including rail voltages, magnetic radiation, and RF radiation). Our supplies are also designed to handle heavy capacitive loads that can cause issues with other racks.
- Color LCD display: Monitors the power supply status, including voltages, currents, and temperature. If using certain Fredenstein modules, such as the F600A, F601A, F602, F603A/B, and F607, all operational parameters of these modules are also displayed on the screen.
- Auxiliary audio inputs/outputs and integrated audio routing: Modules can be daisy-chained simply by using the menu on the LCD display. Compressor bus linking: Compressor modules can also be linked via the menu. This is very useful because different compressors generally have different linking standards.
- Multilayer backplane: Increased signal integrity and lower noise floor. Gold-plated contacts. Solid mechanical construction and precision metalwork.
- Ground-lift switch: In case of ground loops, the audio ground and protective ground can be disconnected. Please use only if absolutely necessary.
