FREDENSTEIN F606 is a high-performance two-channel unbalanced/balanced signal converter with variable gain. It also provides polarity inversion for each side and a clip indicator. FREDENSTEIN F606 is designed for Bento racks, providing two inputs per slot, making stereo modules possible.
This module is perhaps most commonly used to connect consumer devices in a professional studio, such as connecting a client's portable device in the control room. It can also be used to connect hi-fi equipment, synthesizers, guitar amp modelers, etc. Typically, a low-noise, high-impedance input is required. Consumer equipment may have a lower gain level of 10-20 dB required, however, fixed gain is rarely optimal. With 26 dB of available gain, high-quality volume control, and phase switches make setup work that would otherwise be compromised easy.
