FEATURES
For particular types of applications in fixed and mobile installations, the Harmonic Design hd MLC Cardioid expansion module is available. Its purpose is to effectively attenuate mid-low frequency components, rear-radiated by column loudspeakers, by up to 20 dB.
The Line Array's directivity, optimized by the hd MLC, significantly reduces the loudspeaker's susceptibility to feedback in the mid-low range and, at the same time, improves speech intelligibility, as no sound energy is diffusely radiated into unwanted areas.
The hd MLC module is mounted directly on the back of the hd ML-/PL-Series LineArray Sticks and operated via a separate amplifier channel. Cardioid or hypercardioid characteristics can be easily recalled via the corresponding DSP preset.
In addition to reducing rear-radiated sound energy, the hd MLC Cardioid module also extends sound pressure in the mid-low range towards the audience; this makes the sound even more incisive and dynamic while maintaining the same Line Array length. A speakON is positioned on the bottom plate for input connection, while a 35 mm flange allows for standalone use as a main loudspeaker on a tripod.
