The hd P15 is a bass-reflex subwoofer with a 15" speaker that, acoustically, is identical to the hd Sub15, with the difference that it houses the high-end hd MultiDSP and powerful Class-D power amplifiers in the same cabinet, thus becoming the basic component for any mobile Plug & Play system.

The custom 15" long-excursion woofer with a 4" voice coil on a fiberglass former allows for ±15 mm excursion. Through ventilation on the magnetic pole and spider, the voice coil's heat is optimally dissipated, thus enabling an extremely high continuous power handling capacity of 1000 W_RMS and 4000 W peak. Lower heat generation also means higher reliability and reduced thermal stress on the voice coil. The result is excellent dynamics and dry bass reproduction at incredible sound pressure.

The integrated digital power amplifier operates in Class-D. It is designed to meet the highest requirements for audio quality and reliability in fixed installations and touring. Thanks to its extreme efficiency, heat generation is absolutely minimized compared to conventional analog amplifiers; the power amplifier requires less cooling and operates permanently within the safe operating area. The power stages incorporate a high-efficiency switching power supply capable of delivering high performance even under difficult mains conditions, such as undervoltage or during live events due to long power lines, and is far superior to conventional power supplies with universal operating ranges from 95 to 265 V.

On the rear panel, there are VU meters for each input and output channel, as well as a USB interface for setting and managing all audio parameters via PC. The powerful DSP offers FIR and IIR filters to adapt the PA system to the respective application. This new DSP platform enables all processing and control functions of large sound systems in an easy-to-use active Plug & Play system.

The input section includes a routing matrix, a noise and sine wave generator, and a freely configurable equalizer per input channel with 16 IIR filters and a 384-tap FIR filter. Each output channel has 16 IIR filters, 384-tap FIR filters, a 100 ms delay, 180° phase inversion, peak limiters, RMS limiters, gain, and muting. There are 20 factory presets for all Harmonic Design speaker system configurations stored for direct recall on the device so that it can always be restored to a predefined system state. This ensures maximum reliability of the connected speakers and provides very dynamic and linear sound.

A clearly readable 3.2" 4-line LCD display and 5 navigation buttons on the hd P15 allow for simple and intuitive operation, as well as loading factory or user presets directly on the device without a PC.

All functions are clearly organized via the USB interface and the hd LevelZ remote control software: this allows the PA system to be adapted to changing daily requirements in the shortest possible time and makes the usual complete system change unnecessary, whether for a small or large event. Furthermore, the new (and easy-to-use) hd LevelZ PC remote software provides even more detailed information on individual requirements and an unlimited number of user presets and configurations.

With just one hd P15, you can drive two or four satellite or column speakers, as well as another passive hd Sub15. But there's more: the powerful amplifier allows the active system to be adapted to constantly evolving sound requirements. Depending on the room size and visual needs, small, medium, or large mid/high speakers can be connected to the active subwoofers, and if necessary, two hd P15s can be used for a complete PA system. The DSP always ensures optimal sound at all levels and maximum operational reliability. The internal amplification saves a lot of weight, loading space, and installation time. In addition, the Plug & Play system minimizes cabling and thus potential sources of error.
