FEATURES
For particular types of applications in fixed and mobile installations, the Harmonic Design hd PLC Cardioid expansion module is available. Its purpose is to effectively attenuate the mid-low frequency components, retro-radiated by column loudspeakers, by up to 20 dB.
The Line Array directivity optimised by the hd PLC therefore significantly reduces the susceptibility to feedback of the loudspeaker itself in the mid-low range and, at the same time, improves speech intelligibility, as no sound energy is diffusely radiated into unwanted areas.
The hd PLC module is mounted directly on the back of the hd PL-Series LineArray Sticks and operated via a separate amplifier channel. Cardioid or hypercardioid characteristics can be easily retrieved via the corresponding DSP preset.
In addition to reducing retro-radiated sound energy, the hd PLC Cardioid module also extends the sound pressure in the mid-low range in the direction of the audience; this makes the sound even more incisive and dynamic while maintaining the same Line Array length. A speakON is positioned on the bottom plate for input connection, while a 35 mm flange allows standalone use as a main speaker on a tripod.
