FEATURES
Very compact, powerful, and easy-to-transport passive subwoofer with bass-reflex design. It features a specially designed 15" woofer with a 4" voice coil, allowing for wide linear excursion (±15 mm).
Through ventilation at the pole piece, the voice coil's heat development is optimally dissipated, thus achieving a high power handling capacity of 1000 WRMS and 4000 W peak. Less heat generation also means greater reliability and reduced thermal stress on the voice coil; the result is excellent dynamics and dry, controlled bass reproduction at incredible sound pressure.
It does not have an internal passive crossover, so frequency cut-off must be performed by Harmonic Design system power amplifiers or an external electronic crossover; up to a maximum of 160 Hz (with a 24 dB/oct slope), it ensures the best possible transitions between subwoofer and satellite.
The cabinet is made of high-quality plywood, coated to be scratch, impact, and weather-resistant with a finely structured polyurea finish. Two ergonomic carrying handles on top ensure easy handling.
The front of the subwoofer is protected by a rust-proof steel grille coated with internally bonded acoustic foam. An M20 threaded insert on the top of the cabinet allows for mounting a pole to attach another speaker. In addition, four abrasion-resistant rubber feet on the bottom ensure a secure stand. The hd Sub15 is also available in an installation version without handles and M20 thread.
It can be used as a slave subwoofer in addition to the hd P15 stereo active subwoofer or with all Harmonic Design system power amplifiers to ensure reliable and accurate low-frequency reproduction.
