The HERITAGE AUDIO BT-500 is a streaming module designed to finally solve the connectivity problems of mobile devices in a professional studio environment.
The HERITAGE AUDIO BT-500 streams audio from your mobile device via Bluetooth and provides a fully balanced stereo output, +22dBu.
Using the latest generation Bluetooth audio technology, the best codecs supported by devices, and a state-of-the-art Burr Brown-based analog signal path, it solves the classic, irritating problem of connecting an iOS or Android device to your studio setup.
Until now, this problem has been solved using mini-jack to XLR adapter cables, but the limitations of mobile device analog audio paths have become clearly apparent.
The HERITAGE AUDIO BT-500 automatically recognizes the best codec option for your device and uses it for streaming.
Apple's iTunes Store and YouTube use AAC natively, so streaming from an iPhone or iPad will result in a lossless transmission, much better than a wired analog connection!!
Most Android devices have already adopted the APTX codec, which is almost lossless and the standard adopted by high-quality wireless headphones and soundbars.
In case your device does not support either AAC or APTX, the HERITAGE AUDIO BT-500 will transmit audio using the classic SBC codec.
The HERITAGE AUDIO BT-500 replaces your mobile device's analog circuit with a fully differential Burr Brown balanced output stage that delivers a full 0 dBi = +22 dBu output capable of driving a 600 ohm load. This allows for direct level comparisons when mastering or mixing with Apple's iTunes Store or reference mixes stored for mobile devices.

- Microphone input impedance: HI, minimum 1200 Ohm, LO, minimum 300 Ohm. Higher gain positions gradually have higher impedances, optimal for low-gain ribbon microphones. The input is transformer-balanced and floating.
- Line input impedance: 10KOhm bridging, transformer-balanced and floating.
- Output impedance: less than 75 ohms, transformer-balanced and floating, to drive a 600 ohm load.
- Maximum output: greater than +26 dBu into 600 ohms,
- THD: less than 0.025% at 1 kHz, less than 0.05% at 100 Hz.
- Frequency response: 20 Hz (+0.3 dB) to 20 Khz (-0.2 dB).
- Maximum gain: slightly over 70 dB.
- Noise: less than -100dBu.
- Power consumption: less than 80 mA per rail @ +- 16VDC
