The HK Audio Linear 5 MKII 112 XA is a compact, multifunctional, active two-way speaker that is easy to transport for extraordinary performances even in confined spaces. It features a 12” LF driver and a 1” tweeter, while the powerful 1200W amplifier includes a DSP with an integrated equalizer, controllable via DSP Control. All cabinets in the Linear 5 series are made of plywood and MDF.
Linear 5 MKII enters the world of DSPs
Full control over sound output, even during soundcheck or a show, is a feature already well-known in large touring systems or in the LINEAR 7 and LINEAR 9 series. The DSP CONTROL application allows remote control of all LINEAR 5 components, from stage monitors to complete PA systems, via the network and HK Audio's proprietary DSP CONTROL software for Mac and PC. The features of the powerful DSPs, such as volume, equalization, limiting, delay, and polarity, are thus accessible directly from the FoH position at any time.
Speakers that do not have their own DSP technology can do so thanks to the controlled DSP OUT output present in all speakers of the LINEAR 5 series.
A 10-band semi-parametric equalizer, high-pass filter, low-pass filter, delay, polarity, and limiting are available for each DSP output, regardless of the LINEAR 5's DSP configuration.

The acoustic characteristics and stability of wood are unrivalled in loudspeaker construction. It is for these reasons that all LINEAR 5 components are integrated into wooden cabinets. Thanks to the combination of MDF and birch plywood, the mid/high units and subwoofers are extremely compact and relatively lightweight, despite the robust material. The LINEAR 5 MK II 118 Sub A is made entirely of birch plywood.
Every single loudspeaker is manufactured in Germany using a combination of high-precision, computer-controlled production and artisanal craftsmanship, with toxin-free wood, water-based lacquer, and a rigorous recycling and waste prevention strategy.
MultiGrips Handles
The integrated MultiGrips handles make handling the speakers a breeze and ensure even greater safety in any situation. They also allow for the mounting of professional lifting hardware. The TB-45N or TB-45NQ tilt brackets can be mounted directly onto the MultiGrip handles, making them ideal for professional mounting or installation. The LINEAR 5 series models have 3 x M8 mounting points and can be used with AP-8 attachment points, for example.
